Advancements in
eternity brought forth
the following methods
of production: a) artillery
weapons b) the modern
workweek c) considerate
advancements in mining
and d) a strengthened
understanding of bone
decomposition. The state
became its own, longitudinal
star—its ‘significance’
preserved within in-print
compendiums labeled
“Sacrifice.” We adored
the accumulative
effects of merit. We
adored the institution
of marriage and the
new tools coming out
of the assembly line
hole. We adored them
so much that sometimes,
when the administrators
weren’t looking, we would
put them quietly down our
throat. Each day, their list
of demands grew brighter,
and Earthlike. It was our
only form of retaliation,
and we loved how clean
and privatized the room felt
after getting away with it.
