sorry stars
empires razed
to pure night
for you to shine in
take time
I like any light
that is several thousand
years behind its source
reminds me of me
I could stand
to be haunted by the ghost
of what I want
the soul must find
its own soul to survive
another definition of love–
the world is what we forget
to pay attention to
lately the weight
of each day is enough
to produce diamonds
make a necklace
of our deaths
no one’s beyond suffering
but we can’t get used to it
lead in the water
cops paid by our taxes
to kidnap and kill us
toxic and commodified air
soul-pulped systems
milked on greed and fear
terrible jobs and devices
so come ghost
or don’t
I don’t care
I got knives to dream
